finding my way back to the moon: a 2026 lunar calendar

well, here we are. at the start of a new year. the roaring 20s.
for the last year, i’ve felt strangely out of touch with the natural rhythms of the world. i’ve been a bit of a recluse. recovering from grief. working multiple jobs to pass the time and pay the bills. i kind of floated past holidays, my birthday, and even eclipses with my eyes glazed over.
i keep thinking about bella in new moon, just staring out the window while the seasons pass her by. that’s def was 2025 was giving for me except there was no childhood-best-friend-turned-werewolf to snap me out of it.

i definitely wasn’t aware of the moon cycle or astrology at any given moment. straight up just letting life happen to me. which feels especially strange considering there was a time when i co-hosted a moon and astrology-centered podcast (celestial cafe), and my entire content schedule revolved around lunations and astrological shifts. it was nice feeling that in tune with the seasons and my own emotional cycles as the tides rolled in and out.
somewhere along the way, i lost that connection ?
this year feels different though. time to pivot!!
i keep coming back to the image of a caterpillar in a cocoon. at first, it’s kind of relaxing. their only job is to rest and dissolve away. they get comfortable in their goop, barely remembering what it felt like to be solid. time passes. things rearrange. the pieces slowly come back together into something new. everything feels familiar, but fits differently.
and then it gets tight.
uncomfortable. constricting, suffocating. it’s still familiar, still safe in some ways, but no longer working. there’s a pressure growing for movement even while they don’t feel ready… and their body keeps changing anyway. and the wait continues. until one day, the cocoon cracks open and they feel that first crisp ripple of air setting all the fresh nerves alight with anticipation.

i’m not quite ready to burst my cocoon open.
still a little cozy in my goop. but also starting to feel restless. itchy. ready to stretch my wings. move. change. do something different. be somewhere new.
call it my sagittarius moon, idk.
either way, here i am at the start of the year realizing i want to get back in touch with the moon phases and astrological shifts so i can surf the waves of 2026 with a little more mindfulness and readiness.
so i decided to do two things: plan my content releases around the full moons, and make myself a handy lunar calendar reference sheet to keep myself on track (:
naturally, i had to draw a little fairy to go with it, so i hope you enjoy this lil lunar calendar and maybe find a bit of orientation in it too! ?✨
